China Airlines starts flying between Taipei and Phoenix on December 3 with a 3x weekly non-stop flight
Previously, this route had a quirk where the PHX to TPE flight had a stop in LAX for 2.5 hours to pick up more passengers before heading to TPE. However, as of last month, the route has now become a true nonstop flight instead of a direct flight. The 3x weekly flights are scheduled for Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Business class is all-aisle access with a 1-2-1 arrangement.

How to search and book?
1) The easiest way to quickly find dates is on Delta’s site but you’ll want to book with Air France/KLM. Put in dates and destinations, choose the “My dates are flexible” option, choose Shop with Miles, choose one way, and number of passengers.
2) Click on Advance Search and choose your desired cabin (Delta One is business, Premium Select is premium economy, and Delta Main is economy). Then hit search.

Delta homepage
3) After searching, click on Price Calendar option and filter for nonstop options to quickly find dates. Ignore the cost, as Delta wants 230-240k points one-way. The same flight will cost 72k points on Air France/KLM. See below results after filtering for non-stop flights on the calendar.

4) After finding dates on Delta’s site, double-check availability on Air France/KLM. The desktop website is hit or miss when showing China Airlines awards so you may want to try the app. After putting in your dates and destinations and search, you should be able to find the awards for 73k miles one-way.

5) If the desktop site isn’t working, try the app. However, the app is also a bit finnicky and you may have to click around on the calendar as well to get the availability to show up. If that doesn’t work, try calling AF/KLM Flying Blue program to book over the phone. Tell the agent you tried booking online, but the site wasn’t cooperating and they should waive the phone booking fee.

About Find Flights for Me.
I started the idea of Find Flights for Me back in 2023 to help educate and inspire people to use their credit card points more effectively, with a focus on using points to fly business and first class flights. At the time, there was a lot less transparency around using points and the focus was centered around telling you how to earn points. So, I thought I could share content that is easy-to-understand and actionable on social media - and now with a newsletter.
When I’m not working on Wall Street or searching for flight deals, you can find me planning for my upcoming wedding, enjoying local restaurants, helping my parents book their next trip, traveling internationally, or visiting friends/family in NYC, Philadelphia, or DC.
