I highlighted this deal of the week in my weekly newsletter when it was 130k points one-way (260k round-trip). However, the price has dropped and now this deal went from an okay deal to an amazing deal as it is now bookable for 105k points one-way. It’s an even better deal if you have a Delta credit card as you get a 15% discount, making MSP-ICN flights cost 90k points each way.

The quirk of this deal is that there are a lot of one way dates bookable at the saver rates in July-September. However, if you book one way from ICN-US, there are only dates in September at the saver rate. You can “unlock” more dates by booking a round-trip booking, and then it will average to be the saver rate.

Other cities also have pretty good redemption rates, either with a direct flight (ATL, DTW, SLC, SEA) or with connecting flights through those cities. ATL-ICN direct is 125k each way for example.

Fly Delta One business class between Minneapolis and Seoul, starting at 105k points one-way

Routes: Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, and Seattle to/from Seoul + ability to book from other cities with a connection

Airline: Delta

Programs to book with: Delta

Travel timeline: July to September 2026

Cost: Starting at 105k points + $6 one way

Transfer partners: American Express

Summary: Fly Delta One Suites between Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, or Salt Lake City to/from Seoul with fairly wide open availability between July-September 2026. Connect from other US cities for incrementally more points. Those with Delta credit cards that have annual fees get a 15% discount, making this a screaming deal.

Why I like this deal: 1) Reasonable cost of redemption, which is rare with Delta miles, 2) multiple seats (some dates 9+), 3) ability during busy summer season, 4) ability to connect to/from other US cities for the same price or incrementally more (saves on repositioning flight costs), and 5) Delta co-branded cardholders can book this for as low as 90k points one-way with their 15% award discount.

Book a round-trip to get more dates on the return

Although there are plenty of “saver” awards when booking one way from the US to Seoul, there are limited options on the return except in September. To avoid spending 2+ months in Korea, you can book a round-trip flight and Delta will offer you “saver” seats on the return.

Delta is one of the unique airlines where they often have better award rates if you book a round trip, which defeats the philosophy of booking one way award flights. You may need to have a stopover on the return flight to get the deal instead of a direct flight as well. See below example of booking a round-trip flight.

Delta One Suites on the A350

The flights are currently scheduled to be on Delta’s A350, which has a newer Delta One Suite. Yes, that means it has a door. There are Delta One lounges in JFK, Boston, Los Angeles, and Seattle if you are traveling through those cities.

About Find Flights for Me.

I started the idea of Find Flights for Me back in 2023 to help educate and inspire people to use their credit card points more effectively, with a focus on using points to fly business and first class flights.

When I’m not working on Wall Street or searching for flight deals, you can find me planning for my upcoming wedding, enjoying local restaurants, helping my parents book their next trip, traveling internationally, or visiting friends/family in NYC, Philadelphia, or DC.
