First of the month. That means new Air France/KLM promos
On the first weekday of every month, Air France/KLM will update their monthly promos, where award flights are discounted up to 25% off base saver rates. This month’s promos highlight a bunch of economy options between North America and Europe for 18.75k points each way (usually 25k)and also premium economy between Boston and Europe for 30k points (usually 40k). However, an unannounced promo includes IAD to Europe for 45k points in business class (usually 60k). Flights are on Air France or KLM and you can book directly to Amsterdam or Paris, or choose to connect through those cities and have another European city be your final stop.

Even better, American Express has a 20% transfer bonus to Air France/KLM…so you only need 38k Amex points one way to book a business class flight!
Dates: Sporadic availability at promo rates between November 2025 to March 2026. There’s also more availability FROM Europe back to IAD.
How to search and book?
1) Search and book these directly on Air France or KLM’s website. You’ll need to sign in to your account or create one if you haven’t done so already to search.
2) Once logged in, choose the “Book with Miles” option, put in destinations, and choose business class. Leave the date option blank to pull up a calendar view. Then search.

3) Find dates that work for your travel plans using the calendar view, and make sure there are enough seats as well (search the same flight with the desired number of seats)

Note: Promo awards are generally not eligible for a free stopover and also are generally not eligible for the age 2-11 discount.
How much does this cost?
Business class promos are priced at 45k (usually 60k for saver) with taxes/fees starting at ~$244 from the US-Europe and around ~$494 when flying from Europe back to the US. Starting from another city in Europe and connecting through AMS/CDG could potentially lower your taxes/fees as well.
If you have American Express points, there is a 20% transfer bonus to Air France/KLM, meaning you only need 38k Amex points to book a one-way business class.
